Media Divides on Live Coverage of Azadi Long March

Published:

As the country divided on the stance of the existing government’s decision to thwart Imran Khan’s Azadi March, Media also turned to pro or anti PTI agenda which actually fuels the sentiments of the both groups. Yesterday, the Azadi March turned violent when the government, despite telling that there were few people in the Azadi March, confronted IK march with lots of containers placed inside and outside of the Islamabad/Rawalpindi division. The official reports said that the supply of petrol had been halted and ATMs were being filled with less than the capacity. The Supreme Court order to stage Azadi Long March in H-9 was disrespected and the workers of PTI moved to D-Chowk. The reality is precise and clear whereas the media portrays things in a way which exaggerates the current situation and provokes people to act violently. Neither the media, nor political parties and their workers show any decency in respecting the state infrastructure, property, human lives and personal/public vehicles.

If the media starts on-air news which are confirmed, non politicised and unbiased, the situation after that would be in favor of Pakistan only. Thinking beyond and above being any political representative would benefit Pakistan.
