Lahore: Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore increased their tuition fees along with hostel charges drastically, leaving students in a hard situation when inflation hit already high in a country, making it difficult to meet both ends. It has been reported that LUMS administration has increased the tuition fees by 14% from an additional amount Rs 51000 for 16 credit hours, says students. Students also reported that there is also an increase of 18% in the hostel fees, doubling the pressure on students to continue their studies. The Inflation phenomena which has hit each sector, educational institutions have also no exception but this massive increase would be difficult for students since they are already adjusting their monthly fixed income to the on-going inflation which is around 13.5%. Students requested the administration to revise the fees notification, however no significant response has been seen on the request till date.
