Under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) Rs 808 billion has been proposed by finance minister Miftah Ismail. The breakdown of the PSDP fund has been given in brief:
Infrastructure budget to amount Rs 395 billion
Energy sector budget to amount Rs 73 billion
Water Resources budget is Rs 183 billion
Transport and Telecommunication is allocated with Rs 202 billion
Social Sector development budget is Rs 110 billion
Health budget is Rs 24 billion
Education/Young Development Program amount to Rs. 51 billion
Environment Protection/Climate Change budget is around Rs 10 billion
Science and Technology, IT export reserves amount Rs 17 billion
Agriculture and Food Security is Rs 11 billion
Industry and Special Economic Zones budget is Rs 5 billion
A major part of budget outlay has been dedicated to debt servicing and defense which make a significant figure of around 58% of total budget.
