WBA Asia Welterweight Title Bagged by Pakistani Boxer Usman Wazeer

World Boxing Association (WBA) has a formal name as National Boxing Association (NBA) organized in 1921 and changed its name to NBA in 1962, to sanction world championship boxing bouts. Usman Wazeer, a Pakistani boxer won the WBA title in the International Boxing Championship. The event was organized in Gilgit-Baltistan to promote international sports. The 22-year boxer had played against Thailand based boxer, Phatiphan Krungklang. Usman knocked out Krungklang in the second round and extended the record to five knockouts. There were ten countries from which ten athletes participated in the event including Pakistan, Thailand, Afghanistan, UAE, Cameroon, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Nigeria and Philippines. The victory of Usman Wazeer made not only his name to the International headlines but also the region Gilgit-Baltistan was named by international media which may envisage future sport events.
